Spinal Flow Technique: A Path to Deep Healing
Spinal Flow is a gentle, non-invasive approach to healing that works with the spine and nervous system to restore the body’s natural energy flow, release stored stress, and support overall wellbeing.
Developed by chiropractor Dr. Carli Axford, the technique is rooted in the understanding that the body is intelligent and has an innate capacity to heal—when given the right conditions.
More Than Symptom Relief
Unlike treatments that simply manage symptoms, Spinal Flow works to address the root cause of imbalance. By identifying and clearing blockages along the spine, this technique supports deep and lasting transformation from within.
It is suitable for all ages, from babies to the elderly and there are no contraindications.
How Spinal Flow Works
The spine is the central channel of the nervous system, responsible for transmitting messages between the brain and every part of the body. When stress—physical, emotional, or chemical—interferes with this communication, it can lead to discomfort, dysfunction, or disconnection.
A Spinal Flow session supports :
Spinal alignment and spinal fluid movement
Activation of the Spinal Wave™—a natural healing rhythm within the body
Improved energy flow and nerve communication
Reduction of pain, stress, and emotional holding

There is no force or manipulation—only light touch applied at specific access points along the spine, guided by a deep understanding of the 7 Gateways and 33 access points that correlate to organs, systems, and emotional states.
The 10 Principles of Spinal Flow:
1. There is a healing intelligence which flows through the nervous system of every living being.
2. The potential for healing is proportional to the amount of Ease and Life Force Energy that flows through the seven gateways of the spine.
3. Blockages in the spine restrict the potential for healing.
4. Pain, illness and dis-ease are signs of a blockage in the spine.
5. Blockages are the result of unreleased physical, chemical or emotional stress.
6. Your symptoms can tell you which gateway is storing a blockage.
7. You have the power to release your own blockages.
8. Your body will move towards health when it is provided with the right conditions.
9. The healing intelligence of the body can be felt via a Spinal Flow.
10. When the Flow travels through the entire spine it allows healing Life Force Energy to connect to every cell of our body.
The Philosophy Behind the Practice
Spinal Flow is grounded in the belief that the body already knows how to heal—our job is to remove what’s in the way. The technique is based on the idea that our modern lives expose us to three main types of stress:
Emotional Stress: Past traumas, emotional overwhelm, or daily life pressures
Chemical Stress: Toxins from food, medication, environment, or personal products
Physical Stress: Injuries, posture issues, or sedentary habits
These stressors create blockages that interfere with the spine’s ability to send and receive messages clearly. Spinal Flow gently clears these blockages to restore harmony across the whole system.

Tributary Package

This package is designed for two people—whether partners, family member, friends or particularly a parent/guardian and child duo. Working together in the same session can be deeply nourishing and fulfilling for both participants. It allows each person to address their individual needs while benefiting from shared nervous system regulation, as multiple bodies are supported simultaneously in the space.

Sliding Scale: Healing for Every Body
I believe that wellbeing support should be accessible to everyone. If you’re currently facing financial challenges, or if you’re in a position of abundance and wish to support others in the community, I offer a sliding scale payment option.
This approach allows you to pay what you can within a fair range — ensuring that no one is turned away for financial reasons, and those who are able to contribute more help make it possible for others to receive care too.

Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 24 hours notice. This allows your session time to be offered to someone else and helps maintain a smooth flow for everyone.
About Me: My Journey to
Oak Barton Wellbeing
For as long as I can remember, movement has been a central part of my life. Dancing from the age of three and it still being my biggest passion, spending over a decade as a ski instructor in the Austrian mountains and later coaching young athletes in sport-specific yoga, I’ve always felt a deep connection to how the body moves and interacts with the world around it. Running my own paddleboard business for eight years allowed me to further explore how movement and nature can nurture wellbeing.
My own journey hasn’t been without its challenges. From a young age, I experienced chronic illnesses and in my late teens, I sustained a spinal injury that left me living with chronic pain and a range of ongoing symptoms for more than half my life. That injury became a turning point—one that set me on a path of searching, learning and deep inner work. In the last 5 years I’ve moved through deeply intense life experiences of trauma, grief and loss. These experiences have asked everything of me—and in return, they’ve offered deep insight, resilience and transformation. They have shaped who I am and become part of the fabric of my life, pushing me to explore even more deeply what it truly means to heal, grow and come home to myself.
Over the past two decades, I’ve explored and trained in a wide range of healing therapies and modalities—many grounded in an embodied somatic-based approach. It’s been a humbling journey, one that continues to teach me that healing, like life, is far from linear. It has shown me how much strength, softness, and surrendering to what is, it takes to keep walking this path with patience and trust.
I’ve come to understand that working gently with the nervous system—so the body can begin to feel truly safe—is fundamental to lasting change. This sense of safety is what opens the door to the magic, wisdom, and innate self-healing potential that lives within us all.
Supporting nervous system regulation is the underlying intention in the work I offer today—and it continues to guide how I care for myself on my own healing journey too.
This transformative path continues to unfold. It’s taught me the strength of vulnerability, the power of presence and the profound wisdom that lives within the body when we learn to truly listen and trust its ability to guide us back to ourselves.
What made Spinal Flow stand out, both as a practitioner and on my own healing journey, is that it doesn’t focus on what needs to be ‘fixed.’ Instead, it honours the sovereignty of the body and its innate intelligence. I’ve always had a deep knowing that the body holds a powerful internal wisdom and a natural ability to heal itself when the right conditions and support are in place. Spinal Flow allows exactly that. It helps us listen to the body, work with it—not against it—and access the calm, healing state we were always designed to return to.
This work supports something I feel passionately about: the possibility of being truly free to be—our most natural, authentic selves. To enjoy life more fully, to heal, to grow, and to be able to support others as they reconnect with their own healing potential from within.
At Oak Barton Wellbeing, I draw on all that I’ve learned and experienced to support others on their own healing journeys. I believe that each of us has the capacity to heal and my role is to guide and facilitate that process. Whether you’re seeking relief from physical discomfort, support to release emotional blockages, or simply a way to reconnect with your body, I am here to support you with care and compassion.
